For Australia

About the event

Lets Go Exploring

We originally created this event way back at the begining of January. Thanks to so many of you we managed to donate just over £700 to help fund the recovery efforts after the deverstating forest fires that ripped through Australia. Well, we still have some of the medals left, and the recovery efforts are still ongoing so we thought we would open it up again for round two!

The challenge is simple. You pick your distance and how you'll complete it, then you'll have a week to get it done.

There is nothing fancy this time around, no one to compete against, no badges to collect and no mini challenges to complete. Everything is being done as simply as possible so that we can donate as much of the entry fee to charity as possible.

This is a non profit event which costs £15 to enter. A minimum of £11* from your entry fee will be donated between the charities below. The more people who take part, the more we can donate!

* Evething after costs will be donated. If all of the 150 places sell out then a minimum of £11 per entry will be donated

Unlike our previous events there will be no fancy bells and whistles this time around. We want to make everything as quick and simple as we can in order to give the most amount of money to the charities.

After the event is over you just need to upload a screen shot of photo of your Strava, Garmin, pedometer (or any other way you track yourself) and we will send you out our beautiful custom, "Move for Australia" medal. Sign Up

Worlds Wildlife Fund

With the money raised, the WWF Australia teams along with local organisations will carry out work including:

Providing emergency funds to care for injured wildlife.
After the fires clear, helping restore homes for koalas and other wildlife, planting the first 10,000 trees urgently needed in koala habitats.
Supporting the response, recovery and restoration teams in any other way we can.
Helping pressure governments to strengthen laws that prevent excessive tree-clearing, before it's too late.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army are on the ground in Australia helping people who have lost everything in the fires. Be it supplying food, water and clothes to communities or helping with trauma counseling.

Donations will not only go to help fund the first response in communities, but also so that the help can be there when the time comes for communities to re-grow and re-build.
